the frog zone #2: the first post of the year
hello. welcome to the frog zone. this issue, you’ll find:
a tom scott edit,
a song from disney’s encanto, and
a shakespearean insult generator,
among other things.
today’s random camera roll find:
[image id: a copy of the book good omens, by neil gaiman and terry pratchett. on it are aziraphale (michael sheen) and crowley (david tennant) sitting on a globe. end id.]
context: i’d finally gotten my copy of good omens— on christmas!
here’s a wikipedia article about: the olympic sports (even the discontinued ones)
frog-related item of the issue: a frog magnet with a hook at the end. it came with two others, one that was a pig and one that was a bear.
three youtube videos: a very long documentary on disney’s fastpass, the reason why the sat still exists, and a surprisingly well made edit of tom scott to the song primadonna.
a song the zone vibes with:
a story from the zone: as a 10 year old, i was extremely obsessed with the harry potter franchise, and i knew a lot of facts. one of them was that in the fourth movie, barty crouch junior (a character)’s actor decided to improvise his habit of constantly licking his lips. fast forward to 2021 when i’d gotten into good omens and decided to do some research. i was mildly surprised after finding out that david tennant, who played crowley in the tv series, was the actor of barty crouch junior.
more links: a shakespearean insult generator, a feel-good itch.io game, and my literal childhood.
lotsa frogs, the frog zone
